These signs are made of 18 gauge steel, deep embossed, powder coated and then double roll coated to color the lettering and border.  When we sell these signs to highway and road departments, they are guaranteed to last 20 years outdoors.

The longest sign is 36 inches, which limits your sign to 17 characters and spaces using 4 inch tall letters.  Using 2 inch tall letters does not significantly change this requirement, because the 2 inch characters are not much narrower.

For quickest service, choose green background and white letters.  Other background and letter colors are:  Black, White, Red, Green, and Medium Blue.  When making your choice you need to consider the contrast between the colors.  Before finalizing your order, I will offer tips based on my 20 plus years in this business.
